Beat Saber, the Techno Jedi
I like to keep an eye out for new VR games. By that, I mean that I get excited whenever I see them on whatever internet outlet I’m browsing. This time We’ve come across Beat Saber. This game is a rhythm game like guitar hero, except that instead of strumming a plastic guitar, you’re in VR swinging lightsabers at blocks flying at you to the tune of some just stanky dubstep (the good kind of stanky). You can check out their recent teaser trailer here, its hype.
Call of Duty: Prop Hunt
The most recent Call of Duty game, WWII, has a special event taking place called The Resistance. In this event, there are free guns, double exp, and the temporary return of Demolition mode. The most notable feature, however, is the tease of a Prop Hunt mode. According to the event’s website page, players can participate in Prop Hunt, a hide and seek game mode inspired by the popular Garry’s Mod game. This event will be playable February 6 to 12, and 20 to 27. Get in on it while you can. You can watch a trailer for the Resistance even here.
Played Up Kicks
Do you like PlayStation? Do you like shoes? Well we put PlayStation into some shoes for you, dawg. Sony has partnered with Nike and Paul George to come up with the PG2 PlayStation Colorways. This sweet piece of footwear is decked inside and out with the console’s likeness. It even comes with a Dynamic theme download code! The release date is some time next month, with no word on price. I’m going to guess it’s a lot.
Check out the reveal trailer here.
The Totaku Collection
Ok may you don’t want shoes, how about some figurines instead? Sony has also partnered with Gamestop/ThinkGeek in an entirely unrelated event to bring about a small line of PlayStation game characters as 4-inch tall figurines. The series, called the Totaku Collection, includes 7 different characters, each priced at $9.99. They are as follows.
- The Hunter, from Bloodborne
- Crash Bandicoot, Titular
- Parappa the Rapper, Titular
- Kratos, from God of War
- The Feisar FX350 racing ship, from Wipeout
- Sackboy, from LittleBigPlanet
- Heihachi, from Tekken
The Figures’ release date is March 23, and they will be sold exclusively at GameStop.
Golden Rust
Remember Rust? That weird open-world survival game where you ran around with a rock for hours and got shot by some random guy with a gun? After 4 years of early access, developers Facepunch Studios have announced that they will be formally releasing the game on February 8, 2018. This means a few things. They will now be focusing on stability and bug squishing, they will update monthly, instead of weekly, and the price of the game has risen from $20 to $35. I’m happy for the developers, and I hope them the best. You can read more about it at the developer blog post.
Long weekend. I went out of town to visit family. I had to do my work with my mini travel laptop (nicknamed The Gecko) since my main computer is garbage when not fully plugged into my mess of cables. I also have been given more work, I’m now writing news posts for Prepslife.com, A Social Prepper Network. Think camping and survival and such.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for the latest and greatest in video game news. Otherwise, have a great night!
