Thursday 10-12-17

Yea, I’m a jerk for now writing the last 2 days, I’m sorry. It has been a hectic week. Here’s the news from the last few days to compensate.

  • Warframe: Planes of Eidolon released today
  • The Mummy Demastered gets a release date
  • Nissan made a life-size remote-controlled GT-R
  • Occulus drops the price of their VR headset and announces another.
  • Overgrowth will be leaving Early Access

Warframe: Planes of Eidonon
I think I reported on when this was announced. A large update to the F2P game Warframe will implement a new free-roam open world area. Here you can fish, mine, and kill to your heart’s content, but when night falls, the gigantic Eidolon will come out for its strange purposes. This update is for PC currently, the word is it will come to console in due time.
The Mummy Demastered
By the creators of the Shantae series, The Mummy Demastered is a Metroidvania style game centered around elite agents taking on the undead. It was teased back in September, and now via twitter, it has been announced to release October 24th.

Oculus Lowers Prices and Announces New Thing
after a successful summer sale, Oculus has decided to make the new official price tag for the VR headset, The Oculus Rift, permanently be $399, exactly 100 less than it used to be.
Oculus also announced a new device called the Oculus Go. Supposedly it will be the middle ground between PC and mobile VR. This device will not need a phone to power it, nor will it have any cables. With a price of $199, not much else is known about the device

Nissan Remote Control GT-R
In commemoration of the upcoming release of Gran Turismo Sport, Nissan has modified one of their GT-R supercars to be controlled remotely via a PS4 controller. They then proceeded to invite a Japanese gamer to come and operate said car from a small personal helicopter in the sky. I’m told he did fairly well.
Overgrowth is leaving Early Access
Wolfire Games has been developing this 3D fighting RPG about an anthropomorphized rabbit for the last 9 or so years, and on October 16th it will be leaving Early Access. It’s actually the sequel to their other title, Lugaru. I plan to review this game so stay tuned.

I appreciate everyone’s patience in this trying of times. I’ll be back tomorrow probably with the latest and greatest in gaming news.
Have a great night!
