Fallout 76 Updates Bethesda

Bethesda Details Next Two Fallout 76 Updates After Silence

After a bit of silence. developer Bethesda details the next two Fallout 76 updates before releasing a formal patch list.

You undoubtedly have seen the negative reception to Fallout 76, mostly with the slew of bugs and glitches the game has. It’s understandable to be upset. It was even more upsetting that Bethesda had been either non-committal or just straight up silent about the issues since.

Now, in a Reddit post, the Bethesda community manager spoke out to Fallout fans, apologizing for not being more considerate to the community and detailing the game’s next two updates.

We’re aiming to get you the patch notes for these updates quicker and will have them available for December 4th’s update later this week. Probably Thursday or Friday. We’d like to make these articles weekly to make sure you know what the studio is working on as it relates to issues you may be experiencing, quality of life requests you have, or new features they’re excited to share.

The first patch will come on December 4, Tuesday. This will be followed by another patch on December 11, also a Tuesday. But what exactly are they fixing in these patches? I’ve got that listed below.

December 4, 2018

  • Increased Stash Limit to 600. Small improvement for now, to see if change doesn’t negatively affect game performance.
  • Bosses will reliably drop intended loot.
  • Cryolator will cause Chilled, Frosted, and Frozen effects on players, depending on how many times they get hit. The effect lasts 30 seconds.
  • Fixed bug preventing over-encumbered deaths to not allow respawning.
  • Fixed a bug where people were stuck in their power armor. Can still sometimes occur, however.

December 11, 2018

  • Push-to-talk for PC.
  • 21:9 resolution support for PC. Still no 4:5 support. Not that I’m bitter or anything.
  • Field of View settings for PC.
  • SPECIAL RESPEC. After level 50, players can choose between card packs or re-allocating a special stat.
  • CAMP overlap. Your camp won’t be removed/stored if you log into a place that already had one in your spot. Instead, you’ll be notified of the overlap, and offered a chance to join a different server instead. If you agree for the overlap, moving your camp will be free.
  • Bulldozer. You can scrap small trees, rocks, and other crap in your CAMP using the bulldozer, for easier, cleaner camp construction.

Also, do you like the header image? I’ve been having a lot of fun with the game’s camera

Fallout 76 Rick and Morty Ninja Logic

Rick and Morty, Ninja, Logic to Play Fallout 76 this Thursday

Rick and Morty will be playing Fallout 76 later this week. But not alone, no. That wouldn’t be wack enough. Instead, they’ll be playing the game alongside Fortnite streamer Ninja and hip-hop artist Logic.

This is real, not some kind of Clickhole article. Bethesda announced the promotional event on their website as well as the Fallout Twitter account. This Thursday, November 8, at 9 PM ET, the two animated show characters will be playing Bethesda’s upcoming multiplayer RPG with the two aforementioned celebrities.

The event was conceived by eSports Agency Ader, who wanted to create an “immersive experience” where viewers and players could interact with fictional characters from the popular animated TV show, Rick and Morty. It’s not clear HOW this will work exactly. I presume that Justin Roiland (or another voice actor) will be the one voicing the characters.

Fallout 76 is the upcoming multiplayer RPG from Bethesda. The player is one of many who leaves Vault 76 to repopulate a ruined West Virgunia landscape. It’s full of cryptids, mutants, and areas to explore. This is the first time the franchise is coming to a multiplayer format. While some disagree with the direction, others (myself included) love it.

Thursday will also be the final BETA session for the game. Fallout 76 doesn’t actually release until November 14, but the company has been running limited time betta sessions to test and fix any issues. November 6 and 8 will be the final BETA sessions they run before the game’s launch.

The Rick and Morty live stream is scheduled for November 8 at 9 PM Eastern Time, viewable on Mixer and Twitch. Fallout 76 releases on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on November 14.

Fallout 76 game data BETA PC

Glitch Wipes Fallout 76 Game Data Hours Before First PC BETA

Bethesda made a mess for themselves this Tuesday when the Bethesda.net launcher wiped all of the Fallout 76 game data mere hours before the first BETA session for PC.

The game studio planned to launch their first multi-platform Break it Early Test Application for the upcoming multiplayer RPG, Fallout 76, this Tuesday. Unfortunately for PC users, a large number of participants experienced a glitch with the Bethesda.net game launcher. Upon interaction, the launcher would no longer recognize the pre-loaded data and would attempt to redownload it. Since the game is around 45 GB in size, many, if not all of the affected users, were unable to redownload the game before the session ended.

As you can imagine, people were rightly angry about this, myself included! While the Bethesda Support Twitter acknowledged the issue, they were unable to recover the Fallout 76 game data in time for players to participate. Don’t bother looking at the twitter replies, it’s a mess of angry comments.

Bethesda has since apologized for the mess-up. To make it up to the players, they’ve since adjusted the session time from for Thursday, November 1’s session to (2 PM – 11 PM). This is a six-hour increase from the original schedule for that day, resulting in four more hours planned overall if you subtract the two lost from Tuesday’s mishap.

Some found this acceptable, which I agree. Others still are shouting for refunds on forums.

This was a flop on Bethesda’s part, for sure. While framed as a beta, the whole BETA process has seemed more promotional than technical. I will give credit, however. I’m glad it had happened when it did. Without this beta test, this glitch might have made its way to launch day. Can you imagine how much worse the situation would have been then?

Fallout 76 will be formally releasing on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 14.

Fallout 76 BETA Times Dates

Dates and Times for the Next Four Fallout 76 BETA Sessions

UPDATE: THE FINAL TWO BETA SESSIONS

We’re a but over a week away from launch and Bethesda has announced the final two BETA session dates and times. They are as follows.

  • Tuesday, November 6, 1 PM to 3 PM Eastern Time (2 hours)
  • Thursday, November 8, 2 PM to 8 PM Eastern Time (6 hours)

Original Story

Can you guess that I have a personal interest in Fallout 76? Bethesda has announced the next four dates and times for the upcoming multiplayer RPG’s BETA sessions. And that’s for PC and PS4, too.

The details were revealed by the Fallout Twitter account, which included an image detailing the next week of Fallout 76 BETA sessions.

Official Dates and Times

  • Tuesday, October 30, 7 PM to 11 PM Eastern Time (5 hours)
  • Thursday, November 1, 2 PM to 7 PM Eastern Time (5 hours)
  • Saturday, November 3, 5 PM to 9 PM Eastern Time (4 hours)
  • Sunday. November 4, 2 PM to 9 PM Eastern Time (7 hours)

As mentioned above, these sessions will be for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Everything will be the same between the mediums. There will NOT be cross-play during the BETA (or the main game, but that’s not the point).

Last post I made about the BETA, I estimated that there would be sessions on the weekend. While guessing that they’d utilize the weekend is by no means a clever realization, I’m glad to see it confirmed.

Fallout 76 formally launches on November 14.

Fallout 76 Power Armor Helmets for humanity

Helmets for Humanity: Buy Fallout 76 Power Armor Helmets for Charity

Remember when Bethesda announced the Power Armor edition of Fallout 76? It was the one with the wearable Power Armor Helmets. You’ll have a second chance to grab one with Helmets for Humanity!

Bethesda has announced a partnership with Hypebeast and Habitat for Humanity to produce a collection of custom painted Power Armor helmets. The helmets have been put up for auction, with all of the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. The helmet designs feature such artists like Grizzle Marine, Hydro74, and Cloakwork. I don’t know who they are, but I’m not really in the art scene so yea. The entire event is being referred to as the Helmets for Humanity event.

Every helmet is available for auction now on Paddle8, with every listing closing on November 14. Most helmets are currently floating around the $200-$300 range. Though some of the more popular ones are already as high as $1,700. The highest right now is a Nuka Cola helmet, so I get it. It certainly was my favorite of the bunch.

Bethesda made the following statement

All proceeds from the final auction sale of each helmet will benefit Habitat for Humanity, a global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries, to advance the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to call home. In the spirit of Fallout 76 and global rebuilding, Bethesda is thrilled to continue its support for Habitat for Humanity and their noble mission to transform lives and communities through affordable housing.

There’s a cool perk for those in New York. If you go to the Microsoft Store on Fifth Avenue, you can view the helmets in person. They’re currently on display there.

This marks the second major promotional event Bethesda has done with Habitat for Humanity regarding Fallout 76. Before this, the game studio released their “Take Me Home, Country Roads” cover on iTunes, with all proceeds going to the charity.

You can view and bid on the helmets on the auction site. Fallout 76 releases on November 14 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Fallout 76 BETA

The Next Fallout 76 BETA Session is This Saturday

UPDATE: they’re updated the next week of sessions dates and times.

Dates and Times for the Next Four Fallout 76 BETA Sessions

The first Fallout 76 BETA has come to a fairly well-received conclusion. Now Xbox One players will have to wait until Saturday to play again.

According to the official Fallout Twitter, the next Fallout 76 BETA test will take place on Saturday, October 27 from 5 PM to 7 PM. This will be for Xbox One users only.

PS4 and PC players will still have to wait until October 30 to participate in the BETA sessions (I’m totally not bitter about it). Fortunately, I can use this information to guess how often the BETA will take place. So far, there has/will be a confirmed BETA session on a Tuesday, a Saturday, and then Tuesday again. It’d make sense to assume that the one after that will then also be a Saturday, then a Tuesday, repeating until the official game launch. Let’s also assume that there will NOT be a session on Tuesday, November 13, as it is the day before release.

With this, I’m guessing that a Fallout 76 BETA session will take place on the following days.

  • November 3
  • November 6
  • November 10

Of course, these are just estimations, I could be totally wrong.

The Break it Early Test Application is available to anyone that preorders Fallout 76 and registers the order with a valid Bethesda.net account. For more details on that, as well as the BETA in general, you should check out the Fallout FAQ page.

Fallout 76 formally launches on November 14 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

UPDATE:

Bethesda has now announced that there will also be a BETA session on Sunday, Oct. 28 – 12pm ET to 2pm ET. So go ahead an throw my entire theory out the window. Or add in the Sundays, whatever.

Monday 10-22-18: Fallout 76’s Enclave and Lizard Dongs

Sorry y’all. I’m back now. Here’s the recent news.

  • The Enclave, Others Confirmed for Fallout 76
  • Lizard Dongs Penetrate Soulcalibur 6 Online

The Enclave in Fallout 76

Since it’s initial reveal, Fallout fans have speculated toward the inclusion of the Enclave in the upcoming multiplayer RPG by Bethesda. In the first reveal trailer, people saw a space station that they thought may be connected to the Enclave. But with the “no human NPC” rule, no one was certain.

Now, the Fallout Twitter has announced that the Enclave are, in fact, a part of the Fallout 76 game. They cite the group as a faction looking for a secret government bunker in Appalachia. I suspect they’re referring to Project Greek Island, the real-life bunker hidden under the Greenbrier Resort.

It’s not clear at this time how the faction will operate without NPCs, but I’m not the only one thinking it’ll be a faction that players run and operate. We’ll see. Doesn’t the BETA start tomorrow for Xbox One?

Lizard Dongs

https://twitter.com/AltZero_/status/1053154302481612801

Soulcalibur 6 released recently. And with it, we see the full potential of the character creator. Whether we like it or not. The online gameplay has been featuring a number of large-goobered lizard men.

As it turns out, if you use the cylinder, heart, and apple item in character creator, it looks ALOT like a boingus. Add in the humpnig motions of the Voldo fighting style, and you have one erotic combatant. Tweet of offending content embedded above. You’ve been warned.

Thank’s for reading everyone. I’m looking to make some formatting changes to the site here soon, stay tuned! Otherwise, come back tomorrow and have a good day and such.

Monday 10-8-18: Nukes and Government Bunkers in Fallout 76

Not only am I still alive, I’m late to posting the news! Here is that news.

  • Project Greek Island is in Fallout 76
  • Watch a Nuke in Fallout 76

Fallout 76’s Project Greek Island

Bethesda recently held a special event at the Greenbrier Resort of West Virginia. Why? Because it’s the location of the now decommissioned Project Greek Island. For those who don’t know, this was a secret government bunker hidden under the Greenbrier Resort. The location has been confirmed as a place of interest within the game, though details on how remain a mystery.

Watch a Nuke in Fallout 76

Have you gathered yet that this weekend’s news is Fallout based? A writer for Comicbook.com recently posted new video footage, revealing just what a nuke blast looks like in-game. Full honesty, I didn’t watch it. I want the experience to remain pure for when I play it myself. But if you want to see, the video is embedded below.

Thank you folks for your patience in my inconsistent posting schedule. Things have been very busy lately and my personal site is suffering accordingly. Tune in tomorrow for more news. I promise. Otherwise, have a great night!

Friday 9-28-18: Fallout 76 BETA Launch Date, PlayStation All Stars Online Servers, and Fortnite’s Boob Physics

Welcome to the Friday! I’m your host, Branden! Here’s the news.

  • Fallout 76 BETA Date
  • Sony All Stars Closing
  • Fortnite Jiggle Physics

Fallout 76 BETA Details

So last we heard, the Break it Early Test Application for the upcoming Fallout 76 would be taking place in October. This led to some discussion regarding its timing. Since the game launches mid-November, having a beta a month prior seems too soon to actually help.

Well, now we know exactly when the BETA begins. It will start on October 23 on Xbox One, with the remaining consoles getting access on October 30. Being a stress test, it will happen on select days for 4 to 8 hour spans of time. This will happen until “a few days before” the games formal launch.

Let’s be real, this is absolutely a play-it-early preorder bonus more than it’s a bug fixing event. At least they’re actually treating it like a stress test with the designated play times. More information on the beta can be found on the Bethesda FAQ. Fallout 76 releases on consoles and PC on November 14.

PlayStation All Stars

According to a notice listed on the game’s store page, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be shutting down their online services on October 25.

As you might expect, this means no online multiplayer. Offline solo and couch co-op play will still function as normal.

I don’t blame you for this one, Sony.

Fortnite Boobs

In the most recent update for Fortnite, users noticed a new physics feature on their character models. The new Calamity Cowgirl skin had jiggle physics on their breasts. When paired with one of the bouncier emotes, Jubilation to be precise, the character’s chest went from the usual stiffness to a noticeable shake. Epic Games has since issued a statement, calling the feature embarrassing and an accident.

Current speculation is that this was added in by the devs as a joke, and it wasn’t removed before launch. This has happened in games before. Fortnite also has a history of accidentally leaving features in that it shouldn’t have. Funny enough, the biggest example was cross-play support on PlayStation.

That’s all for today folks, thanks for tuning in. Check back Monday for a new week of game news. Otherwise, have a great night!

Oculus Quest

Thursday 9-27-18: Fallout 76 Not Crossplay, Red Dead 2’s 105GB Size, Oculus’s Standalone VR System

look! I’m doing news! Here is that news.

  • Fallout 76 Won’t Have Crossplay
  • Red Dead 2 is 105GB Large
  • The new “Oculus Quest” VR Headset

Fallout 76 Crossplay

Remember a bit back when Bethesda harshed on PlayStation for not supporting crossplay? Well now that they (kinda) do, The game studio has stepped back out to say that their upcoming RPG will not support crossplay in general. Bethesda boss Pete Hines remarked, saying that while the idea isn’t impossible in the future, their focus on the upcoming BETA and launch means the idea is not possible right now.

Red Dead 2 is Large

There’s a promo with the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2. Interested consumers can purchase a PS4 Pro bundled with the game. An image of the bundle box has revealed a few things about the game. PS4 players will be given exclusive content, the game will support up to 32 players, and you will need 105GB of hard drive space. That’s 1/3rd the size of a base PS4’s default hard drive, oof. That’s a big game.

Oculus Quest

Oculus, one of the leading VR hardware organizations, has announced a new project under the name “Quest.” This is a standalone VR system. That means no PC needed, no phone, no console, just a wire-free VR setup. The system will support various Oculus games, citing ” Robo Recall, The Climb, and Moss” as examples. The entire system will cost a total of $399. No word on how “good” it is yet.

If this is as good as it seems, it may be the best introductory VR setup yet.

That’s all for today, folks. Thanks for reading. Tune in tomorrow for one more news before the weekend. Otherwise, have a great day!

Monday 8-13-18: Bethesda Justifies Legal Action, How Fallout 76 Handles Griefers, and Bandai Namco Teases New Horror Game

Sorry for the break, let’s get back to it, shall we? Here’s the news

  • Bethesda Justifies Stopping Used Game Sale
  • How Fallout 76 “Turns Assholes into Interesting Content”
  • Bandai Namco Teases New Horror Game

Bethesda’s Legal Action

If you’ve been tuned into gaming news lately, you like heard about publisher/developer Bethesda’s legal team issuing a C&D for an Amazon listing of a sealed copy of The Evil Within 2. This has the community upset over that they were trying to stop people from reselling games. Marketing executive Pete Hines has since issued a statement. He states that the listing was forcibly taken down because it was a pre-owned copy listed as new. Sealed or not, if it’s not directly coming from a trusted retailer, sales of games have to be listed as pre-owned, which the Amazon listing failed to do. He then reiterates that they have zero intention of limiting used game sales.

This response makes sense to me, but many in the gaming community aren’t having it. Others believe this to be a facade, and that the company is still discreetly trying to limit game sales. Considering this was an action taken by their historically stiff legal team, I believe Hines.

Fallout 76 Griefing Measures

With QuakeCon happening the previous weekend, we learned a few new things about various Bethesda franchises. We saw a trailer detailing the new card-based perk system, but we knew that. We also learned how they plan on making griefers a gameplay mechanic.

When you’re killed by a player, they will then be marked as a “wanted murderer.” This status does the following: They are marked on the minimap to all other players, they have a cap bounty on their head that scales with their level, the bounty is taken out of the murderer’s personal cap stash upon death. If the person they killed returns and avenges themselves, they will get double the cap bounty.

I like this idea, it really incentivizes other to attack them, while hindering them all the same. My only concern is whether a player will instigate someone into attacking, but the defender successfully protects themselves. Will the defender now be targeted as a murderer? I don’t know. We will see this October.

Bandai Namco’s New Game

A new teaser site was recently made like by popular game company Bandai Namco. It shows a loading screen for something called domas_SCENE01, which then displays a static-y video feed of a standard suburban home. The site is called domas.bn-ent.net, so people are taking that the game’s name is Domas. The website’s meta keywords include horror and zombie. Lastly, There appears to be the date of August 30, 2018, at 4 PM. So whatever this is, we’ll likely find out then.

That’s all for today, thanks for tuning in. I hope you all enjoyed the latest episode of the Cozy Co-op, which featured Luke “DaThings1”. Tune in tomorrow for another news post. Otherwise, have a great day!
