The Passing of Hugh Hancock
It is with a heavy heart to report the passing of Hugh Hancock. An animator since 1997, and Machinima.com creator in 2000, he coined the term “machinima” into the major concept it is today. He passed away suddenly on Monday from a supposed heart attack. My condolences go out to his friends and family.
E3 Projekt Red?
The popular developer best known for The Witcher game series has appeared on E3’s “Participating Companies” ticker, found on their website. This was first discovered by Reddit user bronzin54. But the problem is: we don’t know what they have planned. Will there be a big announcement, or are they just there as a formality? Perhaps more info about Cyberpunk 2077 is coming. Frankly, we don’t know. Let me know what you guys think it might be.
Google’s Yeti
According to a report by subscription news source, The Information, Google is looking to get into the games streaming service. We don’t mean things like YouTube Gaming and Twitch. We’re talking about streaming games to the player. A Netflix for games, if you will. We’ve seen this with PlayStation Now, and others. So the concept isn’t unknown. How successful they will be is a different story. The program, codenamed “Yeti” was supposed to release last year, which means it might not be doing as good as it sounds. Only time will tell.
The X-Files: Deep State Review
I’ve reviewed another game. This time it’s the official X-Files mobile game. Its one of those narrative-driven search-and-find type games. It’s actually really good, and its free. You can read my thoughts on it in my full review here.
Thanks for reading everyone. Today was an unmotivated day, but I bore with it. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the next in news. Otherwise, have a great night!
